The company
AEW grew out of 2018’s All In, the independent supershow staged by Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks. Tony Khan launched the company in January 2019 with Cody, the Bucks and Kenny Omega as executive vice presidents, and Dynamite debuted on TNT that October. Its workrate-first style, its partnership with New Japan and its purchase of Ring of Honor in 2022 made it the main alternative to WWE.
