The company
History
Antonio Inoki founded New Japan in 1972 around “strong style”, a stiff, competitive approach. The Three Musketeers carried it through the 1990s, and Hiroshi Tanahashi rebuilt it after a slump in the 2000s. Under Bushiroad’s ownership since 2012, Okada, Omega and Naito made it the in-ring standard of the 2010s. The G1 Climax every summer and Wrestle Kingdom every January 4 are its biggest events.
