The company
History
The NWA was founded in 1948 as a governing body that let regional promoters share one world champion, held by Lou Thesz, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair, among others. After the territories collapsed it shrank to a small alliance, and in 2017 Billy Corgan bought it and rebuilt it as a single promotion with its own TV, a 1980s studio feel, and champions like Nick Aldis.
